Cotswold Wedding Photography: Roundup of 2018

As we start 2019, I’ve done a roundup of my Cotswold Wedding Photography in 2018 and here is a very small selection of all the wonderful weddings I was privileged to photograph last year.

We had some quite extreme weather thrown at us, with The Beast from the East (which kept coming back) in the Spring, and the hottest summer on record turning green grass yellow.

I was back at lots of my favourite local venues and also at some fabulous new ones, and after photographing over 40 weddings I am now enjoying a quieter January & February before the fun starts again!

Some of my most local venues are Blackwell Grange in Shipston on Stour, and the amazing Hyde House in Stow-on-the-Wold. One of my favourite churches to photograph is St. James Church in Chipping Campden. I love The Manor House Hotel in Moreton-in-Marsh, Charingworth Manor, and was excited to photograph my first wedding at the fabulous new venue Lapstone Barn also in Chipping Campden.

A couple of Christmas weddings at The Greenway Hotel & Spa and Charingworth Manor rounded the year off nicely for me. Happy New Year!

Chris & Natalie | Manor By The Lake Wedding

I had my first Manor by the Lake wedding in Cheltenham this summer. It’s a beautiful manor with stunning grounds and you wouldn’t think you were right in the middle of Cheltenham. The Bridal Suite is to die for – perfect for photos and a gorgeous room for Natalie and the girls to get ready in. There is also the wonderful Rock Bar, a very cool place for the boys to congregate and figure out how to put the buttonholes on before the wedding.  Chris & Natalie’s ceremony was held in the majestic Maximillian Room, with beautiful music as always from Angharad James who played through the reception drinks and all the way through the wedding breakfast.

The wedding had a Disney theme so there were little nods to various Disney films throughout the day, and the Manor does have a Disney feel about it! It was a wonderful day and Manor by the Lake offers so many gorgeous little photo spots, so an absolute pleasure for me to photograph and for such a lovely couple.

Beth & Jamie | Pittville Pumproom Wedding Photographer

Beth & Jamie’s wedding was hugely fun to photograph back in August – they made me feel part of the family all day, and both have a wicked sense of humour (as you can tell by the serious signing the register pose). The ceremony was at Pittville Pumprooms in Cheltenham – such a beautiful building and lovely grounds for photos. Their reception was a lovely garden party at Beth’s parents’ house in Newnham-on-Severn. They are both teachers, so little touches like an apple on their place settings were such fun.Pittville Pumprooms Wedding Photographer

Jennie & Ross, Ellenborough Park, 17th May 2013

To be asked to photograph a wedding at Ellenborough Park near Cheltenham is like a dream come true for a photographer – this is the second I’ve done there, and I loved every minute of it. You always get the lovely Howard as Toastmaster which is great to help get all the groups together for photos & make sure the day runs smoothly. Photos were very important to Jennie & Ross so we made sure we used every inch of the beautiful spaces both inside & outside the hotel. If it rains (which it only did while they were eating) there are no worries here, the inside is stunning. So from the hockey boys doing their lunges, bride & bridesmaids in the bath, croquet on the lawn to a Strictly style first dance – it really was an amazing day!

Bet & Jamie’s Pre Wedding Shoot, The Forest of Dean

Beth & Jamie are getting married at The Pittville Pumprooms in Cheltenham in the summer, followed by a garden party at Beth’s parents afterwards in the Forest of Dean, so  it was great to be able to meet them there & do a pre wedding shoot in the Forest. Despite being Spring, it was a freezing cold day, but still got some great fun shots.
