Mickleton Hills Farm Wedding | Vicki & Mike

Vicki & Mike’s Mickleton Hills Farm wedding took place in the autumn, and the beautiful way they decorated the barns gave the day a very autumny feel. The weather didn’t really behave itself, it was an extremely soggy day, raining ALL day long, only stopping half an hour before sunset! But that didn’t stop Vicki & Mike having an amazing day.

I just loved all the pumpkins made from books, and the gorgeous flowers were by another very local supplier Abbie Digweed.

Mickleton Hills Farm is a very local wedding venue to me here in the Cotswolds, and has recently been refurbished and expanded to a very high standard by the lovely owners David & Sammy.

There are lovely cottages on site which meant both Vicki and Mike could get ready there in separate cottages…also making it much easier for me to photograph them when everyone’s all in once place!

Hair and makeup was by the amazing Natasha Louise

The barns were beautifully decorated with pumpkins and conkers.

And of course Abbie Digweed’s lovely flower arrangments.

Vicki & Mike, who both looked stunning, were ready for action as guests arrived in the pouring rain, helped in with big umbrellas by David & Sammy.

And of course sheilding Vicki from the rain as she came across for the ceremony!

All the beautiful flower girls and page boys were Nicki’s nephews & neices!

Confetti was allowed inside thank goodness!

It did rain all day, but the great thing about Mickleton Hills Farm is that there is plenty of room inside for group photos, with the beautiful backdrop of Abbie Digwood’s flower hoop.

Just before it got dark it did actually stop raining, hooray! So we went for a little walk up their very soggy but still beautiful driveway.

The wedding breakfast was set up in the new barn, with delicious food by Orchard Catering.

There was a crazy golf course set up by 9 Hole Event Hire outside in the games area (luckily under cover!) which was lots of fun for all the little ones, and bigger ones!

We did a few more photos outside before the cake cutting and first dance got under way.

Mickleton Hills Farm Styled Shoot

I was lucky enough to be involved in my first styled shoot at the amazing Mickleton Hills Farm just outside Chipping Campden here in the Cotswolds (and round the corner from where I live in Blockley!). This was all coordinated and styled by The Cotswold Wedding Company and was such a lovely day working with some amazing local wedding suppliers.

Mickleton Hills Farm is the perfect wedding venue, based around the original 18th century barn, surrounded by beautiful Cotswold countryside, and recently refurbished and expanded by the lovely owners David & Sammy. They built a new barn, so that the ceremony and wedding breakfast are separate (save all that turning the room round palaver!), and a new play and games area at the back.

We started with bridal hair and makeup, expertly done by Natasha Louise Hair & Makeup in the Wool Store, which is the gorgeous honeymoon suite at the venue.

All the absolutely stunning flowers were done by Flowers by Dawn Keitley – which included a bridal bouquet, buttonholes, flowers in the ceremony room, and amazing table centre pieces for the wedding breakfast.

The ceremony room chairs were decorated in white lace sashes provided by The Cotswold Wedding Company as well as the hexagonal backdrop with flowers.

The ceremony was performed by Lynn Tierney Ceremonies – such a lovely celebrant who will tailor your ceremony to your wishes creating a truly personal and unique day for you.

One of the elements Lynn can do is tying the knot in a hand fasting ceremony.

A Wine Ceremony, where the bride & groom drink from a single glass of wine, symbolises drinking from the cup of life and sharing life’s experiences.

Our bride and groom also ‘jumped the broom’ in a ceremony which dates back to centuries of tradition and is an important wedding custom in many cultures. It has its roots in the Celtic, Welsh, Scottish, Druid, African, Gypsy and some aboriginal cultures.

Couples celebrate this rich cultural heritage, irrespective of race, religion, and nationality.
The most important thing is it’s significance;
– Honouring and respect of ancestors, their legacy, and rich family heritage.
– Coming together of both families, and commitment to each other as wife and husband.
– It represents strength, love, togetherness, loyalty, and respect which is essential for a successful marriage.

Oliver & Ariane | Mickleton Hills Farm Wedding Photography

Oliver & Ariane had a very traditional (well, apart from the boys white pumps!) ceremony at St. Lawrence Church in Mickleton – a beautiful church and one of my favourites. Everyone then well & truely let their hair down at Mickleton Hills Farm which was transformed into the amazing OzStock! – a festival themed reception. I couldn’t believe they had done everything themselves, it looked wonderful, even down to all the guests wearing wristbands! The Wedding Breakfast was from a fish & chip van – another brilliant idea I hadn’t seen before. Really fantastic day & a lovely fun couple – well done to everyone who created OzStock!

Reuben & Melissa | Mickleton Hills Farm Wedding Photography

Reuben & Melissa had a lovely hot day for their outdoor ceremony at Mickleton Hills Farm – a beautiful Cotswolds Wedding venue. It was a fun packed day with Reuben’s dad playing in the band, a BBQ, ice cream van where the kids could have as MANY ice creams as they wanted! After the speeches there was an amazing magician & pizza by The Wild Oven. Make-up by Rowena at The Stratford Make-up School.
