The weather was looking decidedly miserable on the morning of Matt & Roxanne’s wedding at Hyde Barn near Stow-on-the-Wold. But that’s the fab thing about Hyde Barn – they had planned for an outdoor ceremony, but it was effortlessly transferred indoors instead. And then the sun came out later, hoorah! They had quite a small intimate wedding which was lovely, and they are a great couple.
Louise & David had a gorgeous summer day for their wedding at Hyde Barn, just outside Stow-on-the-Wold, one of my more local venues, and I love it there. The weather behaved enough for them to have their planned outdoor ceremony, and then I took them up the road to Lower Slaughter for some photos there. Louise & David are massive club-goers, and are really into their trance music, so we had a fantastic laser show later in the evening, and I finished with a photo outside under a clear starry night. Wonderful day & wonderful couple.
It was an absolute pleasure to work at one of my most local venues for Stefan & Paula’s wedding at Hyde Barn in Stow-on-the-Wold, with the lovely Annie there to help out when needed. It was nice to see some familiar faces when I arrived for getting ready photos with Sandie from Bella Bridal Hair & Samantha Davis MUA doing the beautiful bride Paula’s hair & makeup. After a lovely ceremony we pretended it wasn’t cold and headed off to Lower Slaughter for a few pictures, returning for a quick play on Stefan’s Scalextric set which took over most of the middle room! The talking point of the day was Stefan & Paula’s amazing first dance – proper Strictly style, and extremely well done thanks to lessons from the very talented Jill & Katie (and Jill even played the harp during the ceremony!). Really fun day.
This was the last of my weddings of 2013, on New Year’s Eve! Hyde Barn in Stow was the perfect setting for a cosy Christmassy/New Year’s wedding – the arbor outside looked so pretty all lit up. The ceremony was so lovely with kids running around everywhere and a very relaxed & very funny registrar, and James & Jenny had a good old sing song afterwards with Jenny’s very talented dad on piano.
Another lovely autumn wedding at Hyde Barn. After the girls got ready in the fab room upstairs at Hyde Barn, and the boys attempted to put their button holes on in Fosse Manor (with help from Annie), Ben & Lucy had a relaxed ceremony in Hyde Barn, a really funny registrar helped things along nicely! We then all decamped to Fosse Manor next door for the drinks reception – I didn’t know there was another piece of garden there so that was exciting! Ben has Spanish relatives so when they were introduced into the Wedding Breakfast the guests did this amazing napkin waving thing to rousing Spanish music which was hilarious, I think everyone should do that! Really lovely day & great to be a part of it.
Lee & Vicky had a beautiful summer wedding in August – a gorgeous church ceremony in the Cotswold village Lower Slaughter where a crowd gathered to wait for the stunning bride Vicky’s arrival. The flowers by Clare of Lilyfee Floral Designs looked amazing against the bridesmaids dark blue dresses. Their reception was at Hyde Barn in Stow-on-the-Wold, always great to photograph there and work with the lovely Annie, it just has everything you need for a wedding, and some great places for photos. Clare’s flowers looked stunning on the tables there. A really lovely day & a pleasure to photograph.
Tom and Corinna were very lucky to have a beautiful Spring day for their wedding at Hyde Barn, near Stow-on-the-Wold – a lovely local wedding venue to me. Tom looked seriously cool in his blue suit…great for photos as he stood out from the rest of the boys; and Corinna was a picture of pretty English-ness. Cows were a very important part of the day as they were all sitting down in the morning and we were Worried, then they all stood up (phew) and followed us around all day, even listening in to Tom’s very funny speech. Really lovely day & the balloons were a fab idea.
The lovely Adam & Emma were married in St. Michael & All Angels Church Broadway, with Emma walking there from home through Broadway with her bridesmaids, dog & father – such a beautiful sight. After the ceremony they left in a TVR and I met them for photos in a gorgeous Cotswold field & then Broadway Tower – such a treat to have time to do photos like that. The rest of the wedding was held at the brand new Hyde Barn, in Stow-on-the-Wold, purpose built for weddings & events this year, and I was very excited to photograph there for the first time. It’s an amazing place for a wedding & run by Annie & her team in such a friendly & professional way. Looking forward to my next wedding there already & it’s only down the road from me!
